from the 2007 Walk $10,000 contribution to Autism Society of America Endowment for Autism Research $15,000 contribution to OAR (Organization for Autism Research) for Autism Research $5,000 grant to Indiana Resource Center for Autism to hold a First Responder training conference featuring Dennis Debbauldt as the featured speaker. $5,000 grant to the City of Lawrence Fire Department Corporation to purchase two Project Lifesaver transmitters and additional bracelets for autistic individuals who are flight risks. $3,000 grant to the Gibson-Pike-Warrick Special Education Cooperative to fund a seminar by Jenny Brack on autism and sensory disorders available to all staff and parents with G-P-W students. $3,000 grant to DAMAR Services, Inc. to create additional training for those who work directly with autistic individuals as well as caregivers. This training will be made available through video streaming over the Internet. $3,000 grant to St. Vincent Pediatric Rehabilitation Center to create a sensory motor climbing wall. $3,000 grant to the Riley Hospital Safety Store to purchase safety helmets to be fitted and given out free to families with autistic children/adults whether in the Clarian network or not. $3,000 grant to Hancock-South Madison Joint Services to purchase the Language for Learning teacher materials for its five remaining elementary schools that do not have these materials. $3,000 to Logan Community Services to provide Autism Awareness Presentations to all schools in St. Joseph County. Each child receives an informational packet and pin. Each teachers receives a more extensive informational packet. $3000 grant to the Church at the Crossing - God Made Me Program to purchase sensory equipment and the cost of activities for their Parent's Night Out (respite). This program is open to the public. $2715 grant to Franklin Township Community School Corporation, Special Education Department to purchase sensory materials that will be provided to staff that work with ASD students. They will be taught on the easy of incorporating these materials into their existing curriculum. $2150 grant to MSD of Washington Township to update their Autism Lending Library, 2 subscriptions of News-2-You, and implement pilot resource kits in 3 elementary schools. $2,040 grant to Strides to Success for their Horse of a Different Color program. This program is to assist with sibling interaction with autistic children and their neurotypical sibling. $2,002 grant Children's TherAplay Foundation to send 3 therapists to Advanced Practical Sense in Sensory Integration and 1 physical Therapist to Sensory Integration Training for Physical Therapists. $1680 grant to Lawrence Township Autism Team to provide a presentation to the speech and language teachers from Scott Bellini. In addition each school will be provided with his book to add to their Autism Tool kit. $1,500 grant to HMB Special Services Autism Resource Team for the Video Modeling/self Video Modeling program. The money will be used to purchase Flip Videos and Nano iPods for capturing, watching, and imitating behavior. $1,015 grant to Fishers High School for the After Hours Art program. This program provides an after school program for students in the resource program and IB 3rd and 4th year Art students. Also, the program will go into the summer and work with preschool children with and without disabilities. Funding
from the 2006 Walk $12,500 grant to Autism Society of America Endowment for Autism Research $12,500 grant to National Alliance for Autism Research for Autism Research $3,000 grant to Autism Society of Indiana to provide paid advocacy for parents whose children have autism and need help facilitating the IEP at their school. $3,000 grant to WNIN/PBS to create a live televised forum that will educate viewers about Autism. $3,000 grant to Hancock-South Madison Join Services to purchase iPod Nanos to increase social communication, functional communication, and academic success with students on the Autistic Spectrum through peer mentoring. $3,000 grant to IIDC/IRCA for the Strengthening Our Roots conference. This conference was for the Northern part of Indiana to provide education about the Autistic Spectrum. $3,000 grant to HopeHaven Horse Farm to provide scholarships for 120 riding lessons for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum. $3,000 grant to Agape Therapeutic Riding Resources, Inc. to provide scholarships for 86 riding lessons for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum. $3,000 grant to the Riley Hospital Safety to purchase Ionkids to be given out free to families with autistic children/adults whether in the Clarian network or not. $3,000 grant to Heart of Sailing Foundation to Subsidize 25 sailing sessions for individuals on the Autistic Spectrum. $2,989 grant to Jacob's Place, Inc. for funding to start the Youth Sports for Autism program. $2,600 grant to Perry Township Autism Team for updating their Autism Lending Library with recent resources, including materials with strategies for appropriate social, behavioral, and emotional development, accommodations for sensory needs, and general information about individuals with ASD. $2,375 grant to Winchester Village Elementary for creating sensory areas and individual sensory diets, as well as educate staff about on sensory issues and the relations to Autistic children. $2,000 grant to Mephibosheth Ministries, Inc, for funding activities for the Adult Day program. $1,992 grant to Christole, Inc. for the purchase of communication software programs to be made available to all of their residents. $1,547 grant to the Arc of Bartholomew County Parent Solutions Support Group for a conference featuring Jill England. This conference will train teachers on inclusive education. $1,500 grant to the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville to purchase materials to build a Strength Agility Course for Camp Discovery. Individuals on the autistic Spectrum will use this course. Funding
from the 2005 Walk $12,500 grant to Autism Society of America Endowment for Autism Research $12,500 grant to National Alliance for Autism Research for Autism Research $5,000 grant to AutismCares Initiative, Project Katrina www.autismcares.org $5,000 grant to Indiana Resource Center for Autism to create an organized First Responder training campaign. The money will be used to purchase training materials as well as mailing costs. It is planned that Dennis Debbauldt would participate in the effort. $3,000 grant to Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center to provide the foundation grant for a new series of seminars targeted toward families who are struggling with navigating the plethora of available interventions and therapies for ASD. $2,570 grant to MSD Martinsville to cover specific line item expenses for their upcoming Camp Discovery (1st yr. was last year). Though attendance is limited at this time to their kids we hope to encourage others to replicate their idea, especially since Camp Awareness has closed. $900 grant to MSD Washington Twp. to partially fund a full day training next summer from IRCA on Social Skills Programming for district teachers, therapists, and para-pros. $3,000 grant to Hancock-South Madison Joint Services for the cost of materials to conduct a pilot program in five classrooms using the Language for Learning Program. $500 grant to Mrs. Flynn’s Achievers (Bedford) for the purchase of sensory equipment to provide a sensory diet to allow the students to integrate in the mainstream classes for some portion of the day. $1,000 grant to St. Vincent New Hope to help fund their model program PEERS, a social group for teenagers. $2,300 to Autism Team of NW Indiana to conduct a “Make it and Take it” sensory and communication workshop for teachers, therapists and parents. $1,000 grant to MSD Wayne Twp. to create a slightly different model autism Tool Chest for McClelland Elementary. There will be an organized system of visual supports, templates for social stories, sensory kits, displays systems, etc. $3,000 grant to Knox Co. Autism Resource Team to fund a national speaker as well as a teacher workshop fund. All students will receive 3 free tickets for family members to attend the lecture and staff must demonstrate how they implemented the information they learned at their workshop within their setting as well as provide a min-workshop/in-service for parents and staff to share the information obtained at the training. $3,000 grant to St. Vincent Pediatric Rehabilitation Center to create a sensory motor gym. $1,000 grant to Riley Safety Store to purchase safety products to be given out free to families with autistic children/adults whether in the Clarian network or not. $1,000 grant to Heart of Sailing to support their organization, which takes autistic children, as well as those with other special, needs, for a sailing experience. Southport Elementary School to purchase materials for a
program using ABBLS in the classroom with the intention of sharing the
curriculum and materials with teachers throughout the township. $3,000 grant to F.U.S.E. "Inclusive Education Project" to bring in a nationally recognized consultant on inclusive education to do an in-service presentation for families, teacher and staff of the 5 district area that they serve and to purchase supporting materials for their lending library. This is a follow-up activity to a series of teleconferences on inclusive education that they hosted last year. F.U.S.E. would like to continue the dialog on inclusive education in their community and anticipates interest will be quite high at the middle school level in particular. $1,720 grant to Hoosier Road Elementary "Moves to Learn Project" to purchase sensory integration equipment and staff/family educational materials to create an integrated program serving the sensory needs of their autistic students. $3,000 grant to Children's TherAplay Foundation "Financial Aid Program" to contribute to their financial subsidy program for autistic riders that meet financial requirements and do not have other financial assistance such as Medicaid, First Steps or personal insurance. $3,000 grant to Indiana Resource Center for Autism to purchase 3,000 booklets "When Your Child is Diagnosed With an Autism Spectrum Disorder" to be distributed at no cost to families with a new diagnosis of Autism. $3,000 grant to Hancock-South Madison Joint Services to send 3 key staff members to the Assistive Technology, Reading & Learning Difficulties conference. These staff members will return with the knowledge and cross train staff in 5 school corporations across many specialty areas. $3,000 grant to Central Indiana Chapter Autism Society of America to provide for 30 Camp Scholarships at $100 each for children to attend any camp program. $2,600 grant to Franklin Township Autism "Aware" Team to substantially update materials for their lending library. $2,500 grant to the Church at the Crossing to provide snack, craft materials, Board Maker software and training for a cost free Community Outreach Respite Program. $1,800 grant to Hope Haven Horse Farm to offset costs of a program that provides social skill opportunities for children with autism with trained caregivers, while their parents are meeting and learning about area resources. $1,255 grant to Hamilton Heights Elementary Buddies Program to offset cost of snacks, materials, visitor fees, transportation, etc. for a program for 3rd - 5th graders, which provides social skills opportunities and structured activities including modeling, role-playing, videos, coaching and games based on targeted monthly social skill goals.
